Activities at Smithills Hall
Smithills Hall, Wednesday 29 May
Join us for a brilliant bug hunting session. Grab your nets and containers so that you can examine what you have found.
Our bug expert will help you identify them and then you can let them go. Suitable for children aged 4 to 11.

ANNUAL GARDEN PARTY
Will be held on Sunday 7th July 2019 from 12 noon to 4pm at the Hall.
Crafters are you ready?
Showcase and sell your craft goods and local produce at Smithills Hall’s Garden Party on Sunday 9 July, 12pm – 4pm.
Last year our Garden Party attracted over 1,700 visitors.
Commercial stalls are £20 per person and Charity stalls are £10 per person. The cost includes a trestle table (approx. 6ft by 3ft) and a maximum of 2 chairs. Please note that if you wish to use a gazebo, you will need to provide your own as we do not have gazebos to hire at the hall.
Please contact us on 01204 332209 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with expressions of interest and details of your stall (please provide images if possible) by Monday 3rd June. I will be in touch that week to confirm stall bookings.
You can pay cash or by debit/credit at Smithills Hall or at the History Centre in Bolton Central Library* Please be aware that if you have paid for your stall and do not attend you will not be eligible for a refund.

Come along and see the permanent Timeline Exhibition of 700 years of Smithills Hall’s history, situated in the old kitchen area . Follow the timeline from 1335 to the present and read the fascinating story of the people and events influencing the history of Smithills and beyond. This display is worth a visit. Entry to the exhibition and other areas of the Hall is free.
Volunteer guides will be able to give guided tours to this historic Hall, when it is open to the public. Please ask at the Entrance Hall Reception Desk for information about tour availability. [See also home page]

If you are looking for a special venue for a wedding why not consider this historic Grade I listed building set in its own beautiful grounds.
Civil ceremonies can be held in the historic Medieval Great Hall, or the richly panelled Tudor Withdrawing Room. The refurbished Devey Room is now available for receptions and will shortly also be registered for weddings.
